Taking A Side

I don't read any celebrity magazines and I really don't know who happens to be 'in' these days, but I kind of know who Justin Bieber is.  (Unfortunately.)  He sings, I guess, and has a big following among tweens.  I have never heard anything he has sung, as far as I know, and I don't particularly want to.  And I don't think I EVER would have been thrilled with him, even when I was a tween.  But, to each his own.

From what I understand, Justin has been accused of being a very naughty boy.  A woman has accused him of being the father of her child and there probably will be a paternity test involved, as he has denied this.  I have to side with him:  He isn't the father of her baby.  How do I know?  Look at that picture and tell me he knows WHY females are on this earth, or what he is supposed to do with one?  Case closed.

Ha, ha, snarky is right! I wondered if the whole paternity thing was a publicity stunt to deflect speculation about his preferences. I don't give two s***s what his orientation is, and I couldn't care less about who he is and who he's dating. I'm just glad this paternity hoopla is saving us more "news" about Kim Kardashian. I get tired of being bombarded with "news" about celebrities who haven't actually done anything every time I turn on my computer. Is it any wonder I read a lot of books?

  2. I've gotten to the point where I don't scroll down too far on my homepage when I open my browser--my homepage is Google news--just so I can avoid most 'news' about these people. It's gotten so bad that I get most of my news from Twitter--I 'follow' Breaking News and if there is something I want to know more about, I go to the story. These days, headlines seem to be sufficient when it comes to knowing what is happening in the world. It's really getting sad when most of the stories on the 'news' sites are about these extremely non-talented people who are known for nothing more than spending money and whining. And I agree: It is much better to read books.

My homepage is Yahoo and I can choose what content I want shown, and I'm always amazed when the UP news feed has celebrity news-I mean, is Kim Kardashian really news?? There's lots and lots of things going on all over the world and this is the only thing they think we want to read? I'm beginning to think it's a conspiracy to reduce our IQ.

  4. Google is nicely customizable--I can have the US news, world news, and Red Wing news at the top of the page and keep everything else where I don't really need to see it, at the bottom of the page. ;)

Being In a Funk

I'm still having a bit of a funk going on in my life. To be expected, I guess. But, it REALLY is affecting me to see my best friend ...
