Not Always Right

I found this story on the site Not Always Right--and it made me laugh.  Hope you enjoy.

(I have albinism, so I have very pale skin, white hair, and red irises.)
Me: “Hi. What can I get for you?”
Customer: “Are…are you a vampire?”
Me: “Well, my dad is half-vampire.” *laughing*
Customer: “Please, don’t bite me.”
Me: “Ma’am, I’m not going to bite you.”
Customer: “Don’t put any blood in my food either. I don’t want to be a vampire.”
Me: “Ma’am, I’m not going to put blood in your food. I’m not a vampire. We serve regular food here.”
Customer: “Let me speak to your manager.”
(I go and get my manager, and fill him in on what’s going on.)
Customer, to my manager: “Is your vampire waitress going to bite me?”
Manager: “Only if you don’t tip her well.”
(The woman looks completely horrified, but finally ends up ordering and leaving me a 21% tip.)

How can people be so damn stupid?

sounds like someone's been reading too many vampire books and watching too many Twilight movies. It's amazing how some people lose touch with reality!

I wonder if some deluded person like that would try to stake an albino, thinking it was a vampire? I can see it as a "Law & Order" episode (if L&O was still on the air-maybe a Special Victims Unit episode? vampires would probably qualify as special victims.) You can imagine the defense-"Your honor, my client was under the influence of the "Twilight" books and countless movies about vampires".

  3. After the 'Twinkie defense' and some of the other BS defensive plays lawyers come up with, I would not be surprised. Could be amusing, though--I mean, other than the fact that someone died--and, of course, it would be televised gavel to gavel. Now I'll be scouring the news feeds waiting for this story to break.

I hope that place had security video-otherwise no one will believe it!

I'm still having a bit of a funk going on in my life. To be expected, I guess. But, it REALLY is affecting me to see my best friend ...
