--10:45 PM, subject dressed in black walking on road
We have the politically correct police, we have the 'guvmint' getting up in our faces, now we have 'colors you are not allowed to wear.' Do some people REALLY have so little in their lives that they have to call the cops about things like this? Good grief.

I thought it was bad when people called because someone was taking a nap in their vehicle--in the middle of the day.* Now calls will be made because someone is wearing the 'wrong colors'--and this isn't even gang related, as far as I can tell.
ReplyDelete*If you're not allowed to nap in your car, then K has a lot to worry about. Whenever we go on our road trips, he will sit in the Envoy while I do my shopping at Joann Fabrics--or other 'womanly' places--and take a catnap. If this is an offense that requires a police visit, then something is wrong somewhere. :D
One time when I went to the post office, a very elderly man was sitting in his car (in the driver's seat) and looked like he was sleeping. Since there were no other customers in the PO when I went in, I knocked on the glass, but he didn't move. I thought he might be dead so I went in and got a clerk and the clerk managed to wake him up, much to my relief. I think sometimes it's necessary to make sure that people are OK.
ReplyDeleteI wonder about the police logs-they sound like information is left out. Maybe the person dressed in black was a stranger to the area and the caller thought he might be a burglar. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt.
On the other hand, like you say, some people might have nothing better to do than call the police when anything outside their notion of what's supposed to be happening is occurring. ;-)
I understand about worrying if someone is dead in their car and it IS a good thing to watch over each other, but this is something that shows up in the police logs quite frequently. I still think this is about people not having enough to do in their lives. ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree that info is left out of the logs--there are MANY questions about these incidents that are never explained. Obviously, if the person was walking down the middle of the highway, you MUST call the police--but the WAY these incidents are written are hysterical.
