Okay...

The Youngest has just begun giving her oldest cat anti-anxiety medication.  If this doesn't work, he will have to go on Prozac.  Words fail.

  2. I know the poor thing has 'issues'--we have NEVER seen him in the flesh and call him the 'pretend cat'--but giving him drugs because of it? Maybe his issues are getting worse, I don't know.

Yes, but what is considered "ordinary cat behavior" and what is "anxiety"? I mean, can't the poor cat just be shy, and not neurotic?

  4. With our last conversation, I asked just how bad he is. And I guess his condition IS getting worse. He HAS gone from being shy to neurotic--and it has begun to affect his eating and not just his psychological well-being. He is kind of 'picked on' by the other cats because he is a good target and that makes things even worse for him. However, I guess he is doing better on the meds, so my daughter is happy.

  5. I'm feeling anxious just thinking about giving cats pills.

  6. My daughter is SO good at pilling cats--she took care of our cat when she had her bladder/kidney infection. I've NEVER been able to give pills to a cat and have said if our cat needed any, she would have to be put down--it just is something I find impossible to do.

I'm glad it seems to be working out for the poor cat!

  8. I think one of the reasons she is so concerned about him is his age--he is 11 years old. He needs to have a calm, happy old age.

  10. Yup, that's what I said! And he IS doing better on them, so I guess it's worth it?

I'm still having a bit of a funk going on in my life. To be expected, I guess. But, it REALLY is affecting me to see my best friend ...
