This Is Fun

Saturday night, I was sitting in the kitchen watching TV.  All of a sudden, the cat went a little nutsy, looking in the dining room and crouching.  When I looked, there was a bat flying between the living room and dining room.  Of course, I screamed my bloody head off and K came running out of the bedroom to play Great White Hunter.  After watching him for a while, I went and sat  in the Envoy where it was safe.  Eventually, he came out and told me that the bat had 'disappeared.'  He has no idea WHERE the damn thing went.  By this time, it was getting to be light outside, so I figured the bat had gone to sleep for the day.  And I came back into the house.

Last night, K kept telling me to go to a hotel for the night, but I declined.  It probably would have been better for me if I had gone--my stomach was all in knots, I had trouble breathing, and I thought I was going to puke.  But I kept myself locked in the bedroom and managed to get some sleep.  When I got up this morning, K had not seen the bat all night.  Wonderful.

K is going on night shift tonight.  I am checking into a hotel.  Ain't NO WAY I'm staying here by myself.

ooh, "locking yourself in the bedroom" when you aren't sure where the thing is? what if it's been hiding in the bedroom? can't wait for the end of this story!

wonder how it got in there in the first place? that reminds me of the time a bat got in our house when I was a kid, we kids and Mom huddled in Mom and Dad's bedroom while Dad chased the bat out of the house. It probably got in when we were going in and out of the back door after dark.

  2. The bedroom is off of the living room, so K closed the door to keep the bat closer to the outside door--not that it did any good. :(

Being In a Funk

I'm still having a bit of a funk going on in my life. To be expected, I guess. But, it REALLY is affecting me to see my best friend ...
