And To Continue...

We have another celebrity post today, people! God, I can't STAND this woman!!!!!

This was on TMZ.com today:

Oprah Winfrey wishes her beloved grandma was still around -- to see the "good white folks" that are under her domain.

The media queen told a group of graduates at the Howard University commencement Saturday that her grandmother's wish was that Oprah would someday work for some "good white folks." How the tables have turned, said Oprah, now that those "good white folks" are working for her. Oprah's grandma worked as a servant in Mississippi in the 1950s, and the younger Winfrey has often invoked her as an inspiration and a guiding force in her life.

Not only do I dislike her as a celebrity, but I feel she is the most racist person on TV today! If a white person would say anything that came even CLOSE to her statements, that person would be put in prison for 'hate crimes' and never be let out! I guess the 'Oprah religion' is as strong as ever.

  1. How does she get away with saying things like that? "Good White Folks". Let's see Donald Trump say something about the "Good Black Folks" that work for him and see how it turns out!

  5. And, yes, kristi, I agree 100%--HOW DOES SHE GET AWAY WITH IT? It is very baffling to me.

  6. I didn't know about this until reading your post. I was shocked that she said this! Back in the early 80's I remember watching Oprah on AM Chicago (I was living in northwest Indiana) and I really liked her a lot. I liked her all through the years until in about the last six or seven years. She has just gotten so full of herself and it really turns me off. I haven't watched her in a long time.
My mother ordered some magazines through my niece's Girl Scout troop and one of them was Oprah's magazine. Mom and I were really disappointed in it. It is so pretentious and her "favorite things" that she boasts about are things that most "working people" like me could never afford.

  7. I used to watch Oprah all of the time, too. Then, I realized how a lot of her remarks just wouldn't have been tolerated if a white person had said the same thing. I also was very turned off the day I realized how she wouldn't let anyone have an opinion different from her own. I watched her ridicule and belittle a woman whose understanding of the Bible was different than her (Oprah's) own. I was afraid she was going to eject the woman from the audience! I was appalled!
